Who Is Ratko Mladic?

Ratko Mladic, the Bosnian Serb general accused of overseeing the worst massacre in Europe since World War 11 has been arrested, Serbian authorities said Thursday.
“Today, early in the morning, we arrested Ratko Mladic. The extradition process is under way,” Boris Tadic Serbian President, said. He further said British and American intelligence had assisted Serbian state security in the operation to find Mladic.
Serbia is eager to join the European Union, which has made Belgrade's cooperation with The Hague a condition of its membership. The EU's top diplomat, Catherine Ashton, is due in Serbia imminently for a visit.
"Today we close one chapter … that will bring us one step closer to full reconciliation in the region," Tadic said, adding: "I believe all the doors to our membership in the EU have been opened now."

Ratko Mladic was a fugitive from ICTY and accused of crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide. U.S. had offered $5 million bounty for his arrest on top of 10 million euros by Serbia. He was former Chief of Staff of the Army of The Republika Srpska.(The Bosnian Serb Army) during the Bosnian war 1992-1995. An estimated 8300 Muslims were murdered on his orders.
